Teacher Book

Feather duster or cleaning cloth

White ‘dog collar’ worn by clergy (make one out of card)

Pair of glasses

A small Bible or prayer book

Four pencils

Digital camera

Appendix T4L1 (letter)

Appendices T4F1–T4F4

Appendix T4Cipher

Preparation

Photocopy the first letter (T4L1).

Make several copies of the code cipher (T4Cipher).

Photocopy the files on suspects (T4F1–T4F4), roll each one up and tie with string.

Take the files and letter out to the activity area and place the letter under a tree.

Hide the rolled up files around the activity area.

Scatter the cleaning cloth or feather duster, dog collar, glasses and Bible or prayer book around the activity area.

Write a message backwards on your whiteboard, to tell the children where to find the first letter, e. g. REDNU EHT KAO EERT (under the oak tree).
